India's agriculture sees record rice, wheat, maize production in 2024-25, per Ministry
Key Highlights:
𝐊𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐟 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬: A staggering 1,663.91 lakh tonnes.
𝐑𝐚𝐛𝐢 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬: A robust 1,645.27 lakh tonnes.
𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗳 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲: A record 1,206.79 lakh tonnes, up from 1,132.59 lakh tonnes in 2023-24 (an increase of 74.20 lakh tonnes).
𝗥𝗮𝗯𝗶 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲 157.58 lakh tonnes.
Wheat: 1,154.30 lakh tonnes, surpassing last year's 1,132.92 lakh tonnes by 21.38 lakh tonnes. 🌽
𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝘇𝗲: 248.11 lakh tonnes.
𝗥𝗮𝗯𝗶 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝘇𝗲: 124.38 lakh tonnes. This record production strengthens
India's #foodsecurity and reduces reliance on imports.
It boosts the rural economy, creating more opportunities for farmers and related industries.
It reinforces India's position as a major agricultural powerhouse on the global stage.

𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗳 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗻𝘂𝘁: 104.26 lakh tonnes, a significant jump from 86.60 lakh tonnes in 2023-24 (an increase of 17.66 lakh tonnes).
𝗦𝗼𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗮𝗻: 151.32 lakh tonnes, compared to 130.62 lakh tonnes in the previous year (an increase of 20.70 lakh tonnes).

𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗶𝘀 & 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵: This surge in production can be attributed to several factors:
𝗙𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗼𝗻: Sufficient monsoon rains significantly boosted kharif crop yields.. 🌧️
𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀: Policies supporting farmers, such as increased #MSPs, better irrigation facilities, and distribution of high-yielding seed varieties, have made significant contributions.
𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: Modern agricultural practices, precision farming, and improved mechanization boost productivity.
𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: Indian farmers' dedication and hard work, despite challenges, led to these record outputs.
