USGBC Continues Laying Groundwork for DDGS Exports to India 🇮🇳 Boosting Global Trade & Feed Opportunities 📈🌍

New Delhi / Washington, D.C. — The U.S. Grains Council (USGC) is intensifying efforts to open and expand exports of distillers’ dried grains with solubles (DDGS) to the Indian feed market. With livestock and poultry demand rising, India is viewed as a major growth opportunity for U.S. feed co‑products.

India’s feed demand boom: As India’s poultry, dairy, and livestock sectors grow, demand for affordable high‑protein feed ingredients is also rising. DDGS offers a cost‑effective protein and energy source, making it attractive.

  • Trade policy & market access: There are still regulatory, technical, and trade‑barrier issues to address before large‑scale exports can take off. USGC has been working with U.S. and Indian authorities to resolve these.
  • Strategic presence in India: USGC opened an India office in New Delhi several years back, which enables ongoing coordination with industry stakeholders, feed producers, and government bodies.
