HAMBURG / KARACHI, Oct 7, 2025 — An international tender to import 100,000 metric tons of white refined sugar in Pakistan has yielded several competitive offers, sources say.
The lowest bid submitted was USD 533 per ton (C&F) for small‑grade sugar. Another bid offered USD 549 per ton for a further lot of small grade sugar. Bids range across various grades, including small/fine and medium grades. The state‑owned Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) is currently reviewing the offers and may enter negotiations over the next few days. Under the terms of the tender, all sugar shipments must arrive in Pakistan by November 15.
The import move is seen as part of efforts to stabilize domestic sugar prices, which have come under pressure in recent months.
