Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has urged the Centre to extend enhanced financial and policy support to the agriculture and allied sectors, stressing their critical role in the state’s economy and rural livelihoods. During discussions with senior officials and representatives, Naidu highlighted the need for increased investment in irrigation, crop insurance, farm mechanization, and allied activities such as dairy, fisheries, and horticulture. He said stronger Central assistance would help farmers cope with rising input costs, climate-related challenges, and market uncertainties.
The Chief Minister also called for timely release of funds under various Central schemes and greater flexibility in their implementation to suit state-specific needs. He emphasised that strengthening agriculture would boost income generation, employment, and overall rural development.Naidu reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to farmer welfare and said coordinated efforts between the Centre and the state were essential to ensure sustainable growth in the agriculture sector.
