The arrival of white maize has increased in local agricultural markets this week. With the recent harvesting season coming to an end, farmers are bringing large quantities of their produce to the mandis (agri-markets). According to traders, favorable weather conditions have led to a good yield this year, resulting in higher market arrivals. At present, the prices of white maize are ranging between ₹____ and ₹____ per quintal, depending on quality and demand.
Farmers say that despite the rise in supply, the market demand remains steady, particularly from the poultry feed and food processing industries.
Experts predict that if arrivals continue to increase over the next few weeks, a slight dip in prices may be observed in the coming days.
