Vietnam’s cinnamon exports reached US$22.4 million in January 2026, marking a strong start to the year for the country’s spice sector. The growth reflects steady global demand for Vietnamese cinnamon, particularly from India and the United States, which remained the two largest consuming markets. Industry experts note that Vietnam continues to strengthen its position as one of the world’s leading cinnamon suppliers, thanks to its expanding cultivation areas, improving processing standards, and competitive pricing.
Indian buyers accounted for a significant share of imports, driven by robust domestic consumption and use in food processing, while demand from the U.S. market remained stable, supported by the food, beverage, and health industries. Exporters expect cinnamon shipments to maintain positive momentum in the coming months, especially as global demand for natural spices and herbal products continues to rise. With favorable weather conditions and increased investment in quality control, Vietnam’s cinnamon industry is well-positioned for sustained growth in 2026.
