The National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories (NFCSF) has reported that 325 sugar mills across India have commenced crushing operations for the ongoing sugar season. According to the federation, the countryโs sugar production has reached 10.50 lakh metric tones (LMT) so far, marking a steady start to the season. Industry experts note that early crushing activities and improved cane availability in several states have contributed to the initial output figures.
Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh continue to remain the key contributors to early-season production. NFCSF also highlighted that more mills are expected to start operations in the coming weeks, which may further accelerate the pace of production.
The federation will continue to monitor the progress of crushing activities as the season advances, alongside tracking sugar recovery rates and cane supply across regions.
