Moscow, March 26 (Interfax) — Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced that state support for the country's agricultural sector will exceed 500 billion rubles in 2025, as part of efforts to boost domestic production and control rising food prices.

Key Announcements:

  • Increased Budget Allocation: The federal budget for 2025 will allocate over 500 billion rubles to support farming, continuing a trend of prioritizing domestic agricultural growth.
  • Focus on Key Areas: Priority support areas include financing livestock breeding, elite seed production, and deep processing of grain and milk. Additionally, preferential loans will be provided for sowing and harvesting operations.

  • Over 50% of agricultural machinery and equipment is now produced domestically.
  • Russian farmers received more than 30,000 tractors, combine harvesters, and other agricultural equipment in 2024, significantly enhancing the sector's productivity.

Mishustin assured lawmakers that the government will continue to balance supply and demand while taking measures to mitigate price fluctuations and ensure stability in the domestic food market.
