www.asiaagrifood.com - 📊 Weekly Grain Movement: Corn Tops Expectations Again

The latest USDA grain export inspection report covering the week through January 15 shows U.S. corn export volumes above analysts’ expectations, underscoring robust international demand. Although weekly corn inspections dipped slightly week-over-week to 58.4 million bushels, the figure still surpassed the full range of trade estimates (39.4 – 55.1 million bushels), reinforcing strength in the U.S. export program. Cumulative corn export inspections for the 2025-26 marketing year have climbed to 1.177 billion bushels, roughly 55% higher than the same point last year, reflecting sustained global demand.

Mexico was the top destination last week with 12.0 million bushels, followed by South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Vietnam. Other grains also showed mixed results:
🌱 Soybeans were moderately lower week-to-week but still strong, with inspections of 49.1 million bushels—toward the higher end of analyst forecasts.

🌾 Wheat export inspections improved to 14.4 million bushels, near the top of trade guesses and keeping cumulative volumes ahead of last year. This data highlights continued strength in U.S. corn export demand, supporting market prices and offering optimism for grain traders amid mixed results for other commodities.
