In a major relief to maize growers across Andhra Pradesh, Agriculture Minister K. Atchannaidu has assured farmers that the government will begin timely procurement of maize to ensure they receive fair prices and are protected from market fluctuations.

The state government, however, maintained that procurement arrangements are underway and assured farmers that necessary steps are being taken to resolve the issue at the earliest.
