MILLET MAIZE ETHANOL #MSP

In a major relief to maize growers across Andhra Pradesh, Agriculture Minister K. Atchannaidu has assured farmers that the government will begin timely procurement of maize to ensure they receive fair prices and are protected from market fluctuations.

Maize farmers across several regions are facing severe distress as market prices have plunged drastically, falling far below the Minimum Support Price (MSP) as well as the basic cost of production. The sudden price crash has left cultivators worried about recovering even their input expenses such as seeds, fertilizer, labour, and transportation.

They have warned that continued inaction could lead to protests if farmers’ issues are not addressed promptly. Officials, however, have stated that steps are being taken to resolve the issue and streamline the procurement process. 🌾🗣️
